My experience at EN2010

after months of waiting, at last! on july 22-24, every nation church (victory christian fellowship here in the philippines) had its world conference at SMX, mall of asia. approximately 18000 to 20000 delegates have attended this, 500 of which are international delegates. wow! that was a great number! just imagine during breaks, the mall of asia was crowded by additional 18000+ people. whew!

i wasn't able to attend the opening night on july 22 due to work commitments but i filed a vacation leave on july 23. one word to describe my two days experience at the conference - AWESOME.

here are some of the highlights of the conference:

(1) inspiring story of efren penaflorida, the CNN Hero of the year.

(2) haka performance of new zealand delegates and the traditional dance performed by the delegates of the host country, philippines

(3) darlene zschech speaks about worship.

(4) amazing grace was sang in 50 different languages which made it to the guinness book of records.

(5) i met my old friend and got to meet a new one. it's interesting because ethel has a chinese blood and virginia is pure chinese. virginia and i have three things in common: 1. we love reading books (i accompanied her at national bookstore, though i am a fan of fully booked, but they do not have the books that we were looking for. she bought five people you meet in heaven, your best life now, tuesday with morrie and boy meets girl) 2. we love traveling (she and her family have been to boracay last year. and after the conference she and her colleague/friend will go to cebu and bohol) 3. we are both working in finance (she is working at P&G china). in two days, we were able to exchange life stories and about china and the philippines. i have learned that 1. in china, each couple is only allowed to have one child (this i know) 2. if you have more than one child, the fine for each is (php)140k 3. if you are an only child and you marry an only child, then you are allowed to have two children 4. if you are working in a government, then you have more than one child, you will be fired from the office 5. about their education, they spend 6 years in grade school, 6 years in highschool and 4 years in the university. usually, they graduate from college at age 24 or 25.

she get my home address because she told me after that she will send me a city mug from china. ahhh..

virginia gave me a bracelet and wrote me a letter. i bought her a native bag with a cute pink bear tag from egg.

i am so blessed to be part of this spiritual family. pastor steve's simple message leave a mark in my heart "To honor God is to know ur place and give Him the praise due His name".

meet ms milet, my highschool journalism teacher. she's the one who persuaded and encouraged me to compete in the secondary press conference. because of her, i graduated as the batch's photojournalist of the year and the principal's awardee. thank you for believing in me and for the inspiration, maam! mabuhay ka!

this one was from last sunday's message..looking at cesar now, i would say that his life is a testament of this. i have received the one thing that i have asked for. god's word is very true. and yeah, hubby is in. aside from saturday's bs, he's been attending hillsong's service for i-cannot-count-anymore consecutive sundays already. may God make it grow, the seed that was planted in his heart.

faith honors God, and He honors faith.

Love and Respect

a book by Dr Emerson Eggrichs. before cesar and i get married, we had a counseling session with tatay tito. he encouraged us to read the love and respect book which we bought right after the session (thank you fully booked!).

here's the simple message of the book:

a wife has one driving need -- to feel loved. when that need is met, she is happy.
a husband has one driving need -- to feel respected. when that need is met, he is happy.

it's like, when a wife respects her husband (which he desperately needs), in return, the husband loves his wife (which she most desires). and vice versa.

i am a freshman of this course. a lot of things yet to be learned and discovered. there will always be a room for mistakes. i am thankful that God is the center of this relationship. no matter what, my love for cesar will never be less. i am always in love and more in love with my husband. it deepens everyday.

as i love him with all my heart, i also give him the respect that he needs.

dy, forgive me if at times you feel that i do not. please bear with me. i am getting there. we will get there. i sincerely thank you for loving me, mostly at times that i am not lovable. you are such a wonderful blessing to me. i love you.

World Conference

online registration is busy! will try it again on midnight. excitement is screaming from inside and this news adds to the pleasure -- darlene zschech (of hillsongs) will lead the praise and worship. wow! that is so great!

this conference happens every three years. for the past years, it is being held in manila. i wanted to get a ticket now or at least could register online before every nation will hold the world con in another country the next three years. surely, this will be a great breathtaking experience and worth my two-day vacation leave.

it is like "a taste of heaven".

because i need to go to work today, reporting from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am, i won't make it to the 3pm / 5pm service at victory - greenhills at the music museum. so i attended the 1pm service at victory - fort at global city. the worship was awesome. there's this one song that have moved me and keeps playing on my mind.

"lord, let me worship you with all of my being. it's not about me. worship is all about you..i will be still and know that you are god."

Captivated

though it was just a little time, to me it has a great impact and the prayer was soooo powerful (as ever) and with conviction incorporated by an expectant heart. the situation made me think and realize to always and always be dependent to his sovereignty. he's checking on my inner self, knocking at each of my secret doors..i submit.

still, i always come back and hold on to my first love. the only one who can satisfy my soul. i admit that i love the lonely days as it chases me to him. my broken spirit is sweetly giving him all the praises. thankful as life itself is the best school of faith. tested and strenghthened by circumstances. he's going with me in the same boat crossing over to the other side. to the next level of faith.

all my issues from within, i surrender to the maker. break me. mold me..make me the kind of woman that you want me to be. you reign over me. let me live according to your purpose and for the greater glory of your name.
