My experience at EN2010

after months of waiting, at last! on july 22-24, every nation church (victory christian fellowship here in the philippines) had its world conference at SMX, mall of asia. approximately 18000 to 20000 delegates have attended this, 500 of which are international delegates. wow! that was a great number! just imagine during breaks, the mall of asia was crowded by additional 18000+ people. whew!

i wasn't able to attend the opening night on july 22 due to work commitments but i filed a vacation leave on july 23. one word to describe my two days experience at the conference - AWESOME.

here are some of the highlights of the conference:

(1) inspiring story of efren penaflorida, the CNN Hero of the year.

(2) haka performance of new zealand delegates and the traditional dance performed by the delegates of the host country, philippines

(3) darlene zschech speaks about worship.

(4) amazing grace was sang in 50 different languages which made it to the guinness book of records.

(5) i met my old friend and got to meet a new one. it's interesting because ethel has a chinese blood and virginia is pure chinese. virginia and i have three things in common: 1. we love reading books (i accompanied her at national bookstore, though i am a fan of fully booked, but they do not have the books that we were looking for. she bought five people you meet in heaven, your best life now, tuesday with morrie and boy meets girl) 2. we love traveling (she and her family have been to boracay last year. and after the conference she and her colleague/friend will go to cebu and bohol) 3. we are both working in finance (she is working at P&G china). in two days, we were able to exchange life stories and about china and the philippines. i have learned that 1. in china, each couple is only allowed to have one child (this i know) 2. if you have more than one child, the fine for each is (php)140k 3. if you are an only child and you marry an only child, then you are allowed to have two children 4. if you are working in a government, then you have more than one child, you will be fired from the office 5. about their education, they spend 6 years in grade school, 6 years in highschool and 4 years in the university. usually, they graduate from college at age 24 or 25.

she get my home address because she told me after that she will send me a city mug from china. ahhh..

virginia gave me a bracelet and wrote me a letter. i bought her a native bag with a cute pink bear tag from egg.

i am so blessed to be part of this spiritual family. pastor steve's simple message leave a mark in my heart "To honor God is to know ur place and give Him the praise due His name".
